Flevoland is the youngest province in the Netherlands, but in it’s short existence, it certainly has managed to earn it’s place in the field of large festivals, events, and also theme parks. Such as Aviodrome, Bataviawerf and the theme park Walibi World. The annual Lowlands festival is also a major crowd magnet.
With places like Almere, Dronten and Lelystad, Flevoland also has a lot to offer for art- and culture lovers. You can go out in the evenings in one of the many modern theatres or cinemas, but you could also enjoy a culinary evening out in one of the many nice restaurants.
The location by the IJsselmeer attracts many water sports-lovers to Flevoland. Naturally, many activities are organized that have to do with water. This province also has a number of unique forest area’s, for your well earned relaxation.
And during a day out in Flevoland, don’t miss a visit to the historical fishermen’s village Urk. |
